A Matterport tour is the closest thing to a showing that happens without you driving anywhere. The buyer walks the property in their own time, on their phone, at eleven at night, and arrives at the actual showing having already decided they like it.
What it really buys you is filtering. The people who tour online and then book a viewing are serious, and the ones who were never going to like the layout find that out before anyone gives up a Saturday. On out of area buyers it does more than the photos do.

Does it take much longer on the day?
About half an hour on a normal home, on top of the photography. It is the reason a photo and tour booking is roughly an hour rather than thirty minutes, and it is the single best use of that extra half hour.
